Direct sunlight can negatively impact on your sofa’s colour, particularly if it’s a leather sofa. Take care that your leather sofa isn’t touching a wall or skirting board to prevent any marking and make sure it is at least 30cm away from any heat sources such as a radiator.
Each sofa has its own unique cleaning and care label instructions and should be followed when cleaning your sofa. Always clean your sofa in its entirety as slight colour changes can occur. Certain non-colourfast clothing such as denim can stain lightly coloured leather if it comes into regular contact.
On pigmented or protected, semi-aniline leather, remove any dust by vacuuming and then wipe with a slightly damp cloth. If there is any indication of grease on your sofa, use a mild soap, followed by buffing with a soft, dry cloth.
Don’t use too much water or vigour when cleaning your sofa.
Apply Leather Protection Cream when new and then two to four times a year. Soft Leather Cleaner should be used prior to the protection cream and more frequently when needed. Do not use ‘Hide Food’ or furniture polish on your leather sofa.
